A great way to keep and organize recipes does exist! It’s no fairy tale.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved to try new recipes. When she found a recipe she wanted to try, she longed to keep it somewhere that she could find it easily and it wouldn’t be forgotten. She had cookbooks with dog-eared pages, pages torn from magazines, photo copies from cookbooks and handwritten recipes on cards or scrap pieces of paper. She tried to put the loose ones in binders with sections marked with tabs. But most of the time she just stuck them in a folder hoping to find time to organize them later…which never happened! This is the only true fairy tale you’ll ever hear with an even happier ending. Thank God those days are … Read more…

Can’t find galangal root? I couldn’t either!

But I did find these… And if you’re from my neck of the woods, I’m sure you’re wondering where. I’ll be honest. Easter dinner, it’s a tradition.

So I haven’t talked much about my inspiration for starting this blog. But, it’s all about mom. And what better way to celebrate her than her tradition for Easter dinner. Beautiful veggies

So, I had to get an image on my blog to represent what it’s all about. Flying around the store today in a bit of a hurry, I just started grabbing the most beautiful and interesting veggies that I could find. With the variety of colors and textures, they’re just fun to look at, aren’t they? We all have our favorites when it comes to the vegetables that our palate agrees with. What are yours?

My first stab at food photography

Here it is, my first attempt at capturing food for my blog using our fairly nice, but old camera on a very YUMMY, but uninteresting subject matter. Pot roast… I think I can make this work for a little while, but definitely going to start saving for this lovely for my food photography. Canon EOS 6D 20.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera
